Antoinette Thijssen joined the staff of the Rathenau Institute in May 2008. She manages the Corporate Communications department, which has a staff of six, and is responsible for the institute's communications policy. The areas to which she must devote attention are therefore press and publicity, new procedures and communication tools, and cooperation with external partners.
Academic background and career
Antoinette Thijssen studied at the Faculty of Communication and Journalism in Utrecht and also holds a degree in Philosophy.
Having spent several years as a freelance copywriter, Antoinette went on to hold various positions with organizations including the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM).
From 2003 to 2007, she was Head of Communications for the Netherlands Society for Nature and Environment.
