Chantal Steegers
Chantal Steegers joined the Technology Assessment division as a researcher in October 2006. She has mainly focused on medical technologies. Ze has worked on the projects: 'Emerging markets for bodily material', Market for bodily re-use and Dilemma's surrounding embryo research. Currently Chantal is also working part-time as a policy officer at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
Chantal is co-author of the book 'Nier te koop- Baarmoeder te huur. Wereldwiijde handel in lichaamsmateriaal' and she also did research for the BNN television documentary 'Baby te koop'.
Academic background and career
Chantal studied Arts and Sciences at the University of Maastricht and specialized in medical ethics (as part of a Masters programme in Liberal Arts and Sciences) at San Diego State University. She has also worked at the consultancy firm Schuttelaar & Partners and at the Central Committee on Research Involving Human Subjects (CCMO).
