Drs. Floortje Daemen

Floortje Daemen (b. 1979) joined the Rathenau Institute in 2006. Initially a researcher with the Science System Assessment division, she has since made the move into Technology Assessment.

Floortje is examining the use of various types of information technology in the 'Digitization of the public domain' project. She is also involved in the 'Social Robots' project, which looks at the potential influence of robotic applications in everyday life.

In a previous assignment with the Science System Assessment division, Floortje helped to implement the pilot project component of 'Evaluating Research in Context' (ERiC), and researched the social aspects which influence knowledge sharing using IT infrastructures.

Academic background and career
Floortje read cultural and science studies at Maastricht University, specializing in Science and Technology Studies (STS).
