Irma de Bont

Since April 2011 Irma de Bont is Executive Secretary at the Rathenau Institute.

Background and career
Irma de Bont, who graduated as European Secretary at the European Secretarial Academy, started her career as Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague. After this experience she decided to establish her own business as European management assistant. During 20 years Irma acted as an independent/freelance personal assistant to (senior) managers/consultants, ran full secretaries’ offices of professional organizations, took minutes of meetings in Dutch and English in the public and private sector and worked as a marketing- and communications professional. In 2005 Irma started the Higher European Professional Education program and graduated as Bachelor of Communications in 2009. When not working, Irma likes to cycle in Sweden.
