Chemicals

The Dutch chemicals industry hopes to achieve marked growth in the years to come. It also intends to play a leading role in making our society more sustainable, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels for example. A steering group has been established to guide this process. Its members include prominent representatives of both research institutes and private sector companies.

The steering group has requested the Rathenau Institute to produce a 'roadmap' of chemicals research in the Netherlands. Where are the hotspots and main developments? What is the Netherlands' position in international chemicals research?

This project is executed in cooperation with Peter van de Besselaar, Professor at the VU University Amsterdam.
