Regenerative medicine is a relatively new field of research which emerged in the 1990s. It is concerned with finding ways in which to simulate or stimulate the body's natural ability to repair tissue and organs. Regenerative medicine is now seeing rapid growth The Rathenau Institute examined its development in the Netherlands by means of a bibliometric study.
