Bei Wen joined the Rathenau Institute in February 2010 as a junior researcher and PhD candidate in SciSA department. She is working on scientific system assessment by incorporating soft computing techniques. She aims at enhancing the understanding of the organization and dynamic of the Dutch knowledge infrastructure in the water sector, and measuring if the considerable networks and experiences which the Dutch institutes have built up are adequate and efficient on knowledge production/ diffusion/ use, therefore, to help improve future performance and governance.

Academic background and career
Bei has completed International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics at Erasmus School of Economics. Thereafter she finished Master’s program on Computational Economics and obtained a MSc in Economics & Informatics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, for which she produced a thesis about “model selection under sampling uncertainty using fuzzy numbers”. Previously she held another BSc in computer science and worked for SYNOVATE marketing research company (China) as a senior researcher.
