Dr. Tilo Propp

Tilo is working at the Rathenau Institute since April 2009. He is working within the ERiC project on aspects of research evaluation, with a focus on assessments of the societal quality of research. His case studies are in the engineering fields (electrical/mechanical).

Education and career
Tilo has a Ph.D. in Social History from Rostock University, Germany. At the Universities of Potchefstroom and Stellenbosch (South Africa) he studied, respectively, issues of inter-disciplinary collaboration and friction in social development projects, and models of technology transfer and historical theories of innovation (2000-2003). At Twente University (2004-2006) he focused on assessments of biomedical applications of micro and nanofluidics. This was part of the TA component of NanoNed. At Utrecht University (2006-2008) he studied the functions and dynamics of cancer genomics based expectations of personalized health in strategic research and R&D management. This research was part of the programme of the Center for Society and Genomics, Nijmegen.
