Kustverdediging deelrapport 4: Coastal Defense Research A Bibliometric Map.

We proceed in three steps.

First the field will be defined in terms of journal clusters. This enables us to identify these clusters as subfields, to assess their importance (size), and to assess the place of Dutch research in the international field.

In a second step we analyze the collaborations between research institutes in the Netherlands, in order to get an impression of the multidisciplinary, transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Thirdly, we inspect the subfields more detailed, by analyzing word occurrences. This informs us about the specific topics under study.
