Arnold Vonk was named communications advisor at the Rathenau Instituut in July 2017.
Education and Career
Arnold studied history and journalism at the University of Groningen and worked as an editor at De Volkskrant from 2000 to 2010. Subsequently, as a freelance advisor, he focused on training his clients in advanced Dutch writing skills, helping them to create compelling journalism pieces. He is the author of a manual for op-ed writers, Effectief Opiniestukken Schrijven.
From 2003 to 2005, Arnold was a part-time history teacher. He earned a Master of Education from the ICLON Institute, Leiden University, and in 2015 a Master of Science in Corporate Communications from the Rotterdam School of Management. The topic of his dissertation was ways in which think tanks can win legitimacy.
