Petra Verhoef joined the Rathenau Instituut in February 2018. She is coordinator digital care and health.
Education and career
Petra studied Food at Wageningen University and was awarded a doctorate for her research on the role of B-vitamins in the occurence of cardiovascular diseases. As a post doc at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston she researched genetic determinants of cardiovascular diseases. Consequently, she worked 8 years as project leader at the Top Institute Food & Nutrition in Wageningen. Then she worked almost 12 years at the R&D-department Food and Health of Unilever Vlaardingen. First as team leader, then as open innovation manager and as project leader.
