Jeroen Gouman MA

Jeroen Gouman is a researcher of medical technologies.


Jeroen’s research focuses on the ethical aspects of medical technologies and the societal issues they raise. He is involved in research projects on human/non-human hybrid embryos and genetic modification of the germline.

Education and career

Jeroen has attended the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam where he received his bachelor’s degree in medicine and a master’s degree in Philosophy, Bioethics and Health. During his master’s he studied various bio ethical topics including embryo selection and human enhancement. He wrote a thesis on the ethical aspects of medical expert systems and contributed to a publication titled ‘Digital Doctors’ by the Dutch Centre for Ethics and Health (CEG).
