Lilian works on cases concerning the Smart Society. Currently she is involved in biotechnology projects.
Education and career
Lilian studied Media and Culture at the Amsterdam University and completed the master Applied Ethics (MA) at Utrecht University. The past few years she worked in Norway at GenØk, an institute researching safe use of biotechnology. She researched responsible innovation with nanotechnology. She organised stakeholder events to promote responsible innovation in research projects working on the application of synthetic biology. She also advised the Norwegian ministry of Climate and Environment on the assessment of GMO-applications.
Lilian is chair of the working group 'Social aspects of the biotechnology' of the Nederlandse Vereniging Biotechnologie.
