Demi van Damme
Demi van Damme s a researcher within the theme of Digitalisation. She focuses on the dialogue surrounding emerging digital technologies, examining how the arrival of new digital technologies shapes people’s lived experiences. With a passion for qualitative research, she is currently exploring the effects of digitalisation on citizens’ judgement and decision-making.
Education and career
Demi worked as a Management Coordinator at the University of Amsterdam, where she helped establish new programmes to support new lecturers and PhD candidates in their teaching.
Demi studied Cultural Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Amsterdam, focusing primarily on social issues and public policy. She examined how the figure of the “labour migrant” is constructed in current labour migration policy.
Since 2025, Demi has been working at the Rathenau Institute.
