Dr. Chris Eveleens

Chris Eveleens is senior researcher in innovation and climate.

Expertise
Chris focuses on research policy and innovation policy. Within the team knowledge for transitions, he conducts research on regional policies for sustainable entrepreneurship and on how research and innovation shapes the energy transition. In doing so, he aims to contribute to the responsible development and use of knowledge in society.

Education and Career
Chris studied Science and Innovation Management at Utrecht University, an interdisciplinary beta-gamma program with a focus on energy and climate. He then joined Birch Consultants, where he worked as a researcher-advisor on assignments for both public and private clients. After a few years, his interest was sparked by a doctoral program at the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development at Utrecht University. His research focused on the start-up of innovative companies, and addressed the question of how startup support programs influence the development of these companies. Before joining Rathenau, Chris worked at the Advisory Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation as a senior advisor to the Council.
