Expertise
Alexandra Vennekens is involved with the collection and analysis of quantitative data concerning the Dutch science system and with the development of publications about facts and figures regarding various aspects and topics of the science system. Alexandra works, amongst others, on the projects 'Total Investment in Research and Innovation (TWIN)', 'Balance of Science' and the website 'Science in Figures'.
Education and career
Alexandra has an MSc. in Rural Development Sociology at Wageningen University and Research Centre and completed her MBA General Management at the University of the Free State. After her graduation in Wageningen she worked in South Africa where she researched the financing, implementation and effectiveness of government policy and strategies. Before Alexandra started at Rathenau Institute, she worked at Panteia on projects commissioned by state and provincial departments as well as municipalities. She specialised in policy-oriented research and evaluations with a financial component. Alexandra has been involved in several policy evaluations and impact studies specifically in the field of education, research and knowledge sharing.
