The Rathenau Instituut is autonomous and determines its own research agenda within the work program. Besides the research we do for our own work program, we sometimes do research at the request of third parties. Examples of these are ministries, governments, public organisations, and various European organisations.
A prerequisite for doing research at the request of third parties is that it fits in with our mission, research areas, and public duty. We always publish the results of our research in open access format.
