Jasper Deuten's main interest is Innovation. He focuses on research and innovation programmes, research institutes and other policy initiatives and (internationally comparative) policy studies.
Education and career
Jasper studied both Technical Business Administration and Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society at the University of Twente. He worked as a PhD candidate at the same university.
In the period 2003-2012 Jasper worked as consultant for Technopolis, an international consultancy in research and innovation policy. Based on his involvement in many projects for various national and international clients, including the European Commission, he gained in-depth knowledge of how government policy influences research and innovation.
In the period 2007-2009 Jasper was seconded on part time basis at the Advisory Council for Science and Technology Policy (AWT). He was project leader for two advisory reports on large scale investments impulses of the Dutch government in strategic research and innovation and on the changing role of research institutes in the research system.
