As Chief Scientist, Jeroen focuses on the quality of the research and dialogue function. He has an eye for strategic developments and the political and social significance of the institute.
Career and experience
Jeroen has a broad experience within knowledge institutions, business and government. After studying psychology and methodology, he conducted research into the impact of ICT on social change at KPN and TNO. He headed the strategy and policy research department at TNO ICT and was programme director 'Strategy & Change' at The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS). Within this program, strategic analyses were carried out together with TNO and new innovation strategies for the Netherlands were explored in dialogue with government and industry.
From 2012 to 2020 Jeroen worked for the central government. At the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science he led the strategy programme and was involved in the development of the government's science vision. In recent years he was director of the Central Strategy Unit within the Ministry of JenV. Here he was responsible, among other things, for the development of the strategic agenda and knowledge function of the department.
