Join us for a conversation about the obstacles experienced by early career researchers at universities of applied sciences
To aid the ministry of Education, Culture and Science in exploring different ways to improve the position of early career researchers, the Rathenau Instituut is organizing a series of focus group interviews to chart the obstacles experienced by early career researchers working at universities of applied sciences.
Much has been written about the obstacles experienced by early career researchers at universities and umc’s, such as job insecurities and a high workload. We know much less about the obstacles experienced by starting researchers at universities of applied sciences. Our researcher and teacher motivation survey revealed several of these obstacles. Now we wish to further our insights during a series of focus group interviews with early career researchers, to get a better understanding of these obstacles.
Are you working as a starting researcher (eg. PhD, postdoc-researcher, PD-candidate or lecturer-researcher) at one of the many Dutch lectoraten? Then here is an opportunity to share the obstacles that you experience on your career path during a focus group interview with other starting researchers.
The focus group interviews will take place on location at the Rathenau Instituut, Anna van Saksenlaan 51, 2593 HW, the Hague, on Thursday September 21.
Travel expenses will be compensated, and food and drinks will be provided during the focus groups.
